One essential trick for styling a photo shoot is to select a couple of good-looking books. They add colour, personality and in general, character. The titles on your coffee table say something about your wit and style. If you flip through a few shelter magazines, you will notice that a lot of the same books keep popping up.

Banning the idea that Christmas jumpers only invite ridicule around the dining table, Net-a-Porter has asked a host of designers to create their own versions of the so-bad-it’s-good knits. Some might be more daring than others, but all are guaranteed to be a party season favourite. A new source for fashion inspiration! Just discovered that Jimmy Choo has launched a highly-anticipated new project, Stylemakers, an interactive website featuring a photo gallery of street style images. The public are invited to upload a picture of themselves wearing a Jimmy Choo style – whether it be a shoe or a bag for day or night. Users will then be able to share their photo at www.choo247.com.
The website is categorised in different sections according to location – from London and New York to Shanghai and Sao Paolo – with different ambassadors in each city. Caroline Issa is the label’s London muse for the project.
