Ethos: Privacy is the ultimate luxury.

When it comes to beach resorts, decadence is second nature when it comes to design – over the top, opulent, and ornate are probably words that come to mind. Trisara Phuket, a beach resort through and through, takes a different, more subdued approach. Trisara means “third garden in heaven” in Sanskrit, and upon arrival, it feels exactly like that. Located in a tropical forest on a private bay in Phuket’s northwestern coastline, the property’s environmental policies ensure that the natural ecosystem is preserved. There is a sense of exclusivity that can’t be duplicated anywhere else, maybe because of the picturesque location and comforting quiet. Their approach to luxury is less about stunning the crowd with obvious details and more about privacy and design that doesn’t hinder on your experience.

Renovated in 2012, Trisara is home to 48 pool villas, suites, and rooms along with 18 fully staffed private residences for long term stays. It’s a great choice for holidays with friends, families, and large groups. The staff are excellent and super friendly, and because I enjoyed a relaxing stay with my little one, it was even more special to know that my son had a great time. Their kids club is accommodating, fun, friendly, and flexible, with activities for everyone ranging from 4-16 years old. They consistently build and improve on the kids program, and it shows. The staff have special interactions with the kids, with many children visiting often and forming bonds with the staff. Seeing them cater to and anticipate the needs and wants of each child and satiate their endless curiosity brought a smile to my face every day.

On the property are two restaurants, both featuring local ingredients with full flavors and beautiful presentation. Sunday brunch is a popular option for hotel guests and Phuket residents alike with an amazing spread. Every meal, along with room service, were all authentic and delicious. Besides walking along the private resort beach, if you’re feeling like being active, there are plenty of activities available including 2 tennis courts, a dive center, a Thai boxing ring, and a gym, all with a spectacular ocean sunset view. While I was at a private TRX session, Jared was at a private Thai boxing session at the kids club. Win!

If you’re interested in discovering more off the shores, during peak seasons, they have a floating dock that gives guests the option of hopping on a boat from the beach for excursions or to get  to other hotels or restaurants. Service is always professional, attentive, and personalized, and it really made me feel like we were part of the resort family. The spa has serene sea views and many different amazing treatments available (had to treat myself!) I highly recommend this resort for couples and families especially. If you’re looking for a holiday home, Trisara is a great place to turn into a family holiday tradition. I’m so happy to have had the pleasure of experiencing this with Jared, and he tells me he can’t wait for our return.
