Sugar Boost

How adorable are these super pretty pastries? Looking back at my London summer holiday photos is helping me forget the awful rainy weather we've been getting in Hong Kong. Check out the pipettes of fruit coulis to inject into the pastries! This stand is a permanent fixture at Maltby Street Market, a food lover's paradise of independent gourmet foods. This food market is an alternative to the more expensive and crowded Borough Market not far away. Market stall holders started to move here when rents increased at Borough Market. Maltby Street Market is at Maltby Street, London SE1 3PA. Open Saturdays, 9am – 4pm. Join me… FAC...

Maison Trois Garcons

One of my favourite past times when on holiday is to chill out and catch up with friends in quirky cafes. Maison Trois Garcons in Shoreditch is such a place but so much more than just a cafe, as these photographs show… As well as cakes, pastries, teas, coffees and fruit juices, Maison Trois Garcons serves up seasonal salads and light meals. Thank you to the manager who recommended this delicious gado gado salad… The draw is that it is also a retail space for vintage bags and jewellery, lighting, antique furniture, homeware and gifts…everything you see is also for sale. Heaven for interior enthusiasts. Maison Trois Garcons i...

Chelsea Girl

I am partial to afternoon tea so it's an added bonus that the Saatchi Gallery has a fantastic cafe. Of course I ordered their afternoon tea for two… We were there on the day of the Wimbledon men's final so the tennis ball lime macarons are a cute touch… The exhibition shows how various contemporary artists work with PAPER. This huge bust of crumpled paper is by Spanish artists Jose Lerma and Hector Madera. Artist Yuken Terruya takes disposable paper bags and crafts them into delicate tree landscapes, finding beauty and meaning in something which is normally seen as worthless and mundane. A MacDonalds paper bag… A Hennessy...

Meet Alex Monroe

It's been a while since my last post. This time of year is always extra manic with production and deliveries for Autumn Winter, as well as getting the new Spring Summer samples ready for our sales agents. Anyway, I have a series of posts about my summer in London coming up! Through my work and travels, I am lucky enough to meet a lot of super creative people. Their work and histories are so inspiring, and I thought I would share some of them with you… In the UK and Japan, the name Alex Monroe needs no introduction. His jewellery is stocked in department stores and the best boutiques. Open any magazine and his delicate, nature ...
