Viva Palm Springs

Most guides to Palm Springs mention Ace Hotel so we went to investigate what all the fuss is about… The laid back lobby area… The popular pool area is the main draw for hipsters to soak up the rays, people watch and down cocktails… No time for a dip…we were there to fill our tums before exploring more of Palm Springs! We satisfied Hubby's diner cravings at the King's Highway diner… The adjoining Amigo Room is a cavernous bar that had a touch of Robert Rodriguez about it. The banquet tables are covered with (real?) Mexican bank notes… It's fitting that Palm Springs should host the 3 storey high Forever Marilyn statu...

The Parker Palm Springs

I needed rest and relaxation after a manic September. Hubby prescribed a dose of Californian blue skies so off we flew! Having already visited Los Angeles earlier this year, we decided to experience a desert resort and settled on Palm Springs. We were lured by its reputation (since the 1920s) as Hollywood's desert playground for celebrities to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of showbiz. The "Two Hour Rule" of Hollywood studios put Palm Springs on the map as a perfect getaway. Sicilian Jewels

First of all, sorry for the long blog absence. September is a pretty intense month in a fashion designer’s calendar. We have to deliver the Autumn Winter collection and prepare the following year’s Spring Summer collection for wholesale. Anyway, it’s full throttle back in Hong Kong as I have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline. Aren’t these Dolce & Gabbana lip colours gorgeous? I'm trying a different colour each day thi...

Happy 1st Birthday Lab Concept!

Lab Concept celebrates their 1st birthday this Friday, and have created a series of short videos to celebrate Hong Kong street style. Join in their party celebrations with Hong Kong grafitti artist and local DJ crew "Living Discoheads" this Friday from 7pm onwards at the store. Lab Concept is at Queensway Plaza, 93 Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

Meet Bernstock Speirs

The Bernstock Speirs hat shop, open since 2004, is on the northern tip of the famous Brick Lane, away from the hustle and bustle of the shops, galleries and curry houses, as well as the weekend market crowds. The shop location quietly reflects the Bernstock Speirs brand – cool, off beat, away from the main stream and a style leader. In fact, their pom pom hat with veil was recently copied by retail giant Aldo, but luckily withdrawn from sale after highlighted on Twitter by my cousin Style Bubble no less. I sat down for tea and a natter with the lovely and funny Paul Bernstock and Thelma Speirs back in July at their atelier… ...
