“If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice”

Yes it would indeed! Mid July heralds summer holiday time and alas I will not be going away until September. I suppose I can’t complain as I have already been treated to 2 resort holidays earlier this year; Seychelles for my birthday and Phuket only a couple of months ago.

We stayed at Banyan Tree in Phuket, Thailand in a double pool villa. It was absolutely fabulous to have so much space and privacy to ourselves!

Resort dressing means packing light as most of the time is spent by the pool or beach. Sun hats and sunglasses provide mandatory sun protection as well as style.

I picked up this delicate hat in a vintage store in Burbank, Los Angeles. It’s hand made in Italy but there is no brand label attached. Hubby thinks it looks Moomin-ish but I prefer to think of it as 1960s couture. Balenciaga had a similar hat in their Resort 2014 collection…

This sailor pant suit is very French Riviera. I also got it from the same Burbank vintage store. Despite it being 2 sizes too big for me, I loved it so much I still bought it and had it altered by my tailor in Hong Kong. Tip for vintage lovers: hunt out the stores out of the main towns to discover the real gems.
