Travelogue- Christmas Retreat- Lucerne, Switzerland

Told you I’m in love with Switzerland. How should I describe this country…I guess it’s hard to put a finger on a particular aspect …it’s like when you fall in love with a person, you can’t really explain why. I’ve lived in quite a few different cities and countries with quite different culture, most of them are really nice ones. Switzerland is known for its harmonious and peaceful lifestyle, the decent upbringing of the people and the quality of the mentality. Perhaps due to its geographical location, Switzerland is blessed with one of the most beautiful natural scenery in Europe. It is my kind of winter wonderland, my par...

Travelogue- Lucerne- Palace Luzern Hotel

You must think I’m crazy by now, but there is a reason why Switzerland is the capital for some of the best hotel management schools right? I’ve visited Luzern few times when I was a kid, and interestingly out of many places I’ve visited, it is one of the place that I remembered almost every detail. in fact it was my first taste of luxury in my memory. Since it was road trip starting from Amsterdam, for some reason we ended up in a very grand and beautiful hotel in Lucerne, there were 2 families, mine and my uncle’s a total of 9 people and 5 kids from baby to 17yrs old.. we had the entire top floor of the hotel, facing the lak...

Travelogue- Zurich- Eden au Lac

I wish time can take me back …Waking up to this simple cheers me up. By now you must have think I’ve moved to Zurich. Ha i wish! London is too noisy. Thats why I chose to stay at Eden au Lac hotel in Zurich. There are many hotels I’ve stayed, and in the world’s smallest metropolis, Eden au Lac is one of my favourite places I can stay again. As part of the Victoria-Jungfrau Collection, Eden au Lac is a very intimate hotel, with only 50 rooms in this traditional beautiful hotel, it is slightly further from the city center but it means you’re further away from any noise and traffic. Having said so, it’s only 20 mins direct tra...

Travelogue- Switzerland- Food!

Food is important to me. I eat a lot but I’m quite choosy. I cannot live on junk so I need real food. So being in Switzerland to me is a little hard to find the food i want, only because my body isn’t used to having too much carbs and bread. All I ate was cakes, birchermuesli, eggs, gipfeli (croissant), smoked salmon, petite pain, sausages and cheese! So you see my choices are not a lot when I was in Switzerland…this is one thing I have to think about when I move for retirement…! Other than drinking, wine after wine after wine, all I drank was water the coffee, their coffee is impeccable that got me addicted. I love their espr...

Forgive my radio silence… it was because I had been travelling and working …bad news is I haven’t been updating for a month.. (which I just realized..).. while good news is meaning there will be more hopefully interesting posts to be uploaded in the coming week before christmas! Last few posts I mentioned that my swiss holidays are never ending, and it is still and will be on-going. Switzerland is a place that I fell in love with. But it wasn’t until recently when I revisited the country and ex...
