Fly Away Together

Being a frequent traveller, having a durable and practical suitcase is my top priority. Having one that you use all the times is like an identity, a habit of comfort when you travel around, it is really hard to make any new purchases of suitcases without a strong reason. When you found one, you tend to stick to that one for as long as it last. I stumbled upon this new lifestyle brand Away a little while ago,  it wasn’t until my current hand baggage slightly broke, then I decided to check out the products of this new brand. All along, I am a fan of Rimowa because of its lightweight and minimal simple design. When I saw the prod...

Where to nest in the heart of Soho

I love Soho. As a Londoner, Soho is so much fun and never too much. Every other week there are new cafes and restaurants popping up, every weekend there are parties and the area never sleeps. On a recent visit, I had to chance to stay at The Nadler Soho. I’ve walked pass it many times when I was living around the area but never had a chance to visit. Here I am, at the back of a small alley in the heart of Soho. I know the aree by hand, so for me, navigation was not an issue at all. The Nadler Soho doesn’t have a restaurant unlike many other hotels nearby, but being in the heart of Soho, you literally have everything on your foo...

How about a wine tasting evening?

Whether you are into wine or not, it is always nice to learn something new. Wine is more than just a drink, it is an art, a wide spectrum of knowledge and science, becoming a sommelier is not an easy task. There are a few wine tasting programmes and courses available around, depending on what you are looking for and your aim, there is always one that suits you. Recently I had been invited to attend a wine tasting evening at Le Cordon Bleu in London. For those are into culinary, you are probably familiar with the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute. Courses and programmes from pastry, boulangerie, wine to culinary m...

Quintessentially British Afternoon tea under the Chandeliers

One of my favourite places in London, be it for breakfast meeting, taking visiting friends and family, a nightcap or a date night at the bar, Bernes Tavern in the London Edition has a special place in my heart. Inspired by the classic muted colours of Johannes Vermeer paintings and American artist Donald Judd, Berners Tavern has taupe coloured walls, dusty rose chairs, and a subtle play between modern and period detail. Tub chairs in the front of the space create a café-like setting, while banquettes in chestnut mohair and taupe leather and round, rift cut bleached oak tables define the central dining area. Two large custom bro...

The scent of the English Countryside

There is something about scented candles and diffuser that is so addictive. That slight scent comes along with the breeze every now and then at home, is relaxing, uplifting, soothing…however you feel.  Recently I’ve been introduced to a new English candle brand – Chelsea Candle. Based in Kent, England, the brand was founded by Chelsey O’Nell, who was previously a Production Manager working in London. At the beginning of 2015, she packed up her life in London and moved back to the beautiful English coast in Kent where Chelsea Candle was born. Using only high-quality soy wax and fine fragrance oils, the scent has a solid ton...
