HIDE- a well-kept Michelin secret in London

London is a city where there are so many surprises waiting to be found. My latest excursion was lunch at HIDE. I have walked past this place many times, heard about this restaurant for a while, yet I never had a chance to visit. Finally, I managed. ‘The food I cook is entirely product-driven, taking the very best ingredients, questioning why we like them, and then highlighting those qualities in the most organic, restrained manner. It is food you can’t recreate at home, but it is also food that respects the integrity of the ingredient and the toil that goes into producing them.  The opportunity to collaborate on Hide: the ch...

Quintessentially British Afternoon tea under the Chandeliers

One of my favourite places in London, be it for breakfast meeting, taking visiting friends and family, a nightcap or a date night at the bar, Bernes Tavern in the London Edition has a special place in my heart. Inspired by the classic muted colours of Johannes Vermeer paintings and American artist Donald Judd, Berners Tavern has taupe coloured walls, dusty rose chairs, and a subtle play between modern and period detail. Tub chairs in the front of the space create a café-like setting, while banquettes in chestnut mohair and taupe leather and round, rift cut bleached oak tables define the central dining area. Two large custom bro...

Yakitori Omakase in the heart of London

It’s never easy to find authentic Japanese food in London, let alone one with quality ingredients and reasonably affordable price tags. The much loved Jidori, the Japanese yakitori and small plates restaurant, opened its first door since 2 years ago in Dalston, it has finally opened its second site in Covent Garden. Spread over three floors of a Georgian terrace on Catherine Street in the heart of Theatreland, Jidori can seat approximately 50 diners and will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The design takes inspiration from the vibrant restaurant and bar scene of Tokyo, where the streets are a maze of tiny drinkin...
