Want something different when you visit London? I have a suggestion for you.
Part of First Restaurant Group, newly opened The Hayden in Westbourne Grove is quintessentially British, a balance of being a tourist and a local.
The Hayden Pub Interior

Located in the heart of Notting Hill, The Hayden opens its door after undergoing an extensive makeover complete with new menus. This atmospheric London pub, covered in grey wood-panelled walls contrasting its red leather banquettes under the decorative tin ceiling and large statement mirrors is both modern and nostalgic. Open kitchen pub with 8 unique luxury boutique hotel rooms above, this is a sophisticated reinterpretation of a classic Gastro Pub with Rooms.

A selection of refined British classics with a carefully curated selection of signature cocktails, the pub slowly transforms from a chilled and relaxing space during the day into a buzzing and cozy hub at night. Guests and neighbours from the area come and go, groups of friends and couples enjoy their evenings over the scrumptious food served by the super friendly staff. There is also an intimate semi-private lounge that is tucked away from the main dining area,  perfect for 30 standing or 26 seated guests for any events or celebrations.

Above the buzz and vibrant pub is 8 luxury rooms spread over 3 floors. No elevator and completely renovated classic steep staircase, the modern bedrooms each come with a distinctive interior design with an individual personality. All home comforts and high-tech amenities in a relaxing spacious room in the heart of London above a busy pub. It is surprising how quiet the rooms are: with public transportation and countless cafes, supermarkets, restaurants literally on the doorsteps, you actually forget how central you are as soon as you melt into the king-size comfortable bed. The route going back up to the room is an interesting one- either you walk through the pub, which is also the reception of the pub, and through few doors going back up, or you go via the lower ground street entrance that goes behind the pub after its closing hours. A bit of a maze if you miss the signage. Can you imagine how these earliest forms of hotel used to be?

The beauty of a boutique pub and rooms with just 8 rooms is the personal touch during your stay. The staff who run both the pub and the rooms recognize you from the moment you step into the pub checking in, and their friendliness and thoughtfulness makes you feel like you are part of this hub, that you are going “back up to your room” in this house. During my stay I had a few personal errands needed to run, and the team helped me with every single thing, as simple as double checking where is the closest post office and its opening hours. If you want to stay at a central location that offers you everything without breaking your wallet, check out The Hayden. You won’t regret it.
