Known for its knitwear, GIG Couture is another brand that brings a very nice surprise. Almost the entire collection is delicately done, highly wearable yet special. Founded in 2002 by Gina Guerra and Patricia Schettino, each piece comes out by the handiwork with jacquards and special yarns mined over long researches, all this coupled with the high-tech machinery that makes up the brand factory, located in Belo Horizonte.
I had a closer look at the backstage at each piece- they are so structured that you almost cannot believe it’s knitwear. The mixture of fabrics are also carefully chosen. From the pastel colour palette to the modern sophisticated cut and structure, I love the entire collection. It was already very beautiful when the pieces were hanging there at the backstage, but once the show started and they came to live on models, they were just gorgeous. The fit, the way they hang on the body, the movement, it’s the precision of the knitwear that makes such a big difference.
Their collections can also be found in Paris, in London, plus strategic points in Saint Tropez, Monaco, Spain, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Dubai, among others. And to complete its international presence, GIG is the only Brazilian label in permanent catalog of Showroom Fabre in Paris.
